Public Relations on Mommy Rantings
Sponsoring a review or give away on a mom blog that receives ample traffic, comprised of the everyday consumers whom are purchasing products and services - just like yours! - is a great way for your company to get exposure - not just during the holiday season - but all year long.
A review will include my honest opinion, and I usually get the kids involved, as children give the most honest reviews in the world (don't you love them?)!
A give away will be held for the time period that you choose (or I can choose, it's completely up to you - it's normally around 2 weeks in length) to intrigue visitors and get them excited about your product.
I promote all of my blog posts on the Mommy Rantings Facebook page (come click the "Like button!), my own personal Facebook page, the QueenBMomma Twitter account (follow me!) and several giveaway link-ups (like Giveaway Scout and GiveAway Blogs) throughout the span of the giveaway. Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest have also been added. As a matter of fact, all blog posts are automatically shot out to 7 social media platforms now.
I also spend time visiting other mom blogs and spreading the word about the reviews and giveaways that I post, as networking and social media marketing are two of my major strengths.
It Is Not All Fun and Games
If you are not familiar with blogger marketing and you're thinking, "So, I'm supposed to send you a product to review for free AND let you give one away, too? No way!" Well, first of all, you're a bit behind the times and a tad out of the loop. Let me hip you up...
Managing reviews and giveaways is a lot of work!
There is the initial contact with the company, providing stats from the blog, and essentially "negotiating" whether you are interested in sponsoring a review or a giveaway or both. Then, I spend my time trying out the product and gathering my own (and the children's - and sometimes my husband's, if you're lucky) thoughts and opinions. Then, I sit down and compose a great post with images, tweet and post it to Facebook, add it to the giveaway list on Mommy Rantings and promote it through emails, giveaway forums and word-of-mouth.
I also keep track of the deadline, run a Random.org number selection for the winner(s), contact the winner(s) and collect address(es) to mail the product(s) to (that's the fun part! I LOVE telling the winner that they won - they always feel so special!). I then have to email the company to let them know who the winner(s) is/are and pass on the address(es). Then, I post up a Winners Post, take the giveaway off of the Mommy Rantings giveaway list, and add "CLOSED" to the original post. Phew! Did I leave anything out? Most likely, I did.
Monetary Compensation & Products
Monetary compensation may be received for the work that I do. When I review products, the products are not sent back to the company. (There may be some posts that require monetary compensation, however I will always discuss this with the company beforehand and make note of it on the post - please see my Disclosure statement below).
