Top 10 Tips to Remove Stains on Kids Clothes

It’s impossible to have kids who don’t dirty their clothes. If you have kids, it is likely that you have
to do an amazing amount of laundry. Don’t get frustrated or irritable with your kids when you can’t
get stubborn stains off their clothes. With a few simple tricks, you can easily remove all sorts of
stains.

1. Understanding the stain:

Different stains require different methods of cleaning. Don’t wash all types of stains together. See
what type of stain it is first. Kids mostly come up with grass, paint, and dirt stains.

2. Grass and dirt stains

Rub methylated spirit or white vinegar with a sponge on the fabric to remove the stain and then
soak it in cold water for fifteen minutes. Now wash the garment with a mild detergent.

3. Marker and ink stains

The best way to remove these stains is to take equal quantities of white vinegar and isopropyl
alcohol and soak the stained part of the garment into this solution for ten minutes. If the solution
darkens in color but the stain is still visible, throw away this mixture and replace it with a new
mixture and again soak the stained fabric for ten minutes. Now rinse the fabric with hot water and
launder the garment.

4. Greasy stains

Before trying to remove the stain, brush away the food particles stuck on the fabric with the help
of a paper towel or a clean cloth. Now sprinkle some baking soda on the stained area. Leave the
garment this way overnight. This will help the baking soda absorb all the grease from the stain.
Now brush the baking soda off the fabric. Drizzle the stain with a dish washing detergent and scrub
it into the stain. Wash with hot water.

5. Ketchup stains

Ketchup stains are quite tough and should be cleaned as quickly as possible. Scrape away the
ketchup from the fabric first. Now use a mild detergent and cold water to remove the stain. Scrub
vigorously as ketchup stains are very stubborn.

6. Blood stains

The best way to clean blood stains is to soak the clothes in very cold water with a little salt and then
scrub with a good detergent.

7. Chewing gum stains

To remove chewing gum from a garment, place an ice bag over the stuck gum and wait till it
hardens. Now you can easily remove the chewing gum.

8. Berry stains

To remove berry juice and jam stains, soak the garment for 10 minutes in a mixture of water and
vinegar in the ratio of 2:1. Wash as you normally do.

9. Chocolate stains

Wash in warm water with any washing detergent with enzymes.

10. Paint stains:

Scrub the paint stain on the garment with glycerin soap and rinse with very hot water.
