Why My In-Your-Face Parenting Beats Your Lazy Parenting Any Day

Are you a lazy parent? An in-your-face parent? Or somewhere in between?

There are days when it's cold outside and my kids will all cuddle up in my bed with me, watching movies. But, as much as that would be a beautiful life, those days are few and far between. On most days, my kids won't let me be anything but up and in their faces!

You see, if I am not up and in my kids' faces, they will do whatever they want to do (or so, I happen to believe.) If I did not tell them to get off their duffs and do their chores or whatever else they need to do, they would play computer or tablet games all day long.

They're kids! What do you expect?

It's not just my own children I have learned from, but other children, as well.

If You Breastfeed in Public, We'll Grab Your Nipples! - New Hampshire Republicans Sexualizing Breastfeeding

When our baby cries out hungry, the instinct to feed him (or her) comes naturally for a mama. There is only one problem with this. An infant does not discern between being in the comfort and privacy of our home and being out in public. When they are hungry, they are hungry.

I would prefer to just stay at home for the entire first two years of my baby's life so I can feed her comfortably and privately. But, any mom who has ever breastfed knows that's impossible.

For those idiots who are not aware, a newborn baby breastfeeds every couple of hours. A toddler can breastfeed just as often, depending on the routines mom and baby have established. We could lock ourselves away until our children are weaned off the breast. Or we might just be lucky enough to have excellent timing when we do go out. But, more than likely, we are going to have to find a way to feed our baby in public. For most of us, there is no getting around it.

10 New Years Resolutions of a Mom of Nine

I never make New Year resolutions, most because all New Year resolutions are made to be broken. So, it makes more sense not to make resolutions and just wing it as the year moves along. A clean slate and a brand new start is something that makes us all feel good, though! This year, I have stepped out of my resolution ban and came up with some resolutions for myself that I am going to try to work on.

Resolution Books, Books, Books!

The first resolution was a big one, and I already accomplished it! (Huge pat on the back.) I have been working on my 4th book for six months now, and crunched hard on the last stretch to get it published for the New Year.
