Giveaway Blogs: Increase Your Twitter Followers Quick!

Are you starting a Giveaway or review blog, but experiencing trouble obtaining sponsors because you don't have enough Twitter followers? (Don't worry! I'll be writing another post for Facebook fans and GFC followers in the near future, too!)

You finally get in touch with the right person in the company that you've been dieing to work with as a sponsor for your blog and they ask you:

"Can you tell me the stats for your blog? Twitter followers, Facebook fans and GFC followers?"

And your heart sinks because they tell you that your blog "did not qualify"...

I stumbled across some advice last night (on New Year's Eve, of all nights!) and tried it out...and over NIGHT, I increased by more than 50 Twitter followers! And, that is just the first night!

Seriously, I'm not even sure if these companies understand that Twitter followers, Facebook fans, and GFC followers should NOT be the way to "judge" a blog. There are so many tips and tricks to increase your blog's following...and the fact that blogs have 1000 GFC followers, 1500 Facebook fans, and 2000 Twitter followers doesn't necessarily mean that all of those people are avid readers of your blog, but...

They want the numbers, so let's give them their numbers! (And, you'll get some blog followers, too, if your tweets catch their attention!)

Don't Pay For Followers and Fans!

You are going to find plenty of pay-for-follower sites that will promise to increase your Twitter followers, but why pay someone when you can do it yourself?

Here's What I Did

There are also methods that can be used to auto-follow (or follow back automatically), and this is part of the trick that you will use to get those followers! The best advice that I found was to follow the people that have the most followers. Look in your niche on Twitter and follow the 5 top "big boys" (or "big mommas") on Twitter - you'll most likely get a follow back, but even if you don't, you will be added to their "newest follower" list and pop up every time someone looks at their page (well, of course, that is until someone else takes your spot).

I also found a list here of the Top Twitter Users, listed by number of Twitter users. What did I do with this list? The instructions said to follow from the bottom of the list, on up. I started from the top of the list and am working my way down. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I can tell you that I'm getting a new Twitter follower at least every half hour now. As a matter of fact, I just checked and during the course of typing up this post, the QueenBMomma has increased her Twitter followers by 5, and I didn't even do anything...they just keep coming!

Adding An Auto-Tweet

You've probably noticed that as soon as you follow someone on Twitter, you might get a very fast response thanking you for the follow and directing you to their website, blog, etc. These are normally auto-responses to new followers and many use SocialOomph to not only send people an auto response when they are followed on Twitter, but also auto-follow them back.

Now...I'm not a fan of auto-responses. To me, they are generic and not very genuine and, although the world is progressing to more automated systems, I won't be sending any auto-responses to followers on Twitter. If they follow and they like QueenBMomma's Tweets, they will make their way to the blog anyways. Right?

Show Me a Little Love

If these tricks work for you, come back and leave a comment and follow QueenBMomma on Twitter for the follow-up blog posts on adding Facebook fans and increasing your GFC followers within the next few weeks.

Happy New Year! Here's to a brand New Year with new beginnings and a lot more followers!

  1. Good ideas! I had to add the send request bc I got hacked on Twitter. Following some blog hops helped me too.
