But, when the opportunity came to try out Oregon Chai's Tea Latte Concentrate, I jumped on it. (There's nothing wrong with trying something new!)
Taste
From a normally non-tea or chai drinker, the taste is a little spicy and a little sweet. It's quite different than I thought it would taste, in a good way. It's definitely not coffee - it's tea, so you can expect the lighter side, but it has a nice spicy taste to wake your senses up in the morning. Get you sparked right up. It's mellow enough, though, to drink any time of the day: morning, noon, or late in the evening...whenever it's time for that "Me Time", as Oregon Chai calls it (Whatever that is! I haven't seen "Me Time" since before the kids!).
Research
Okay, so I went onto their website to do my little research...and would you believe there is a recipe for a Chocolate Chai Cake? Oh, yes, we made the cake and...oh, my! It's a must-try for you chocolate lovers! It doesn't stop there...they actually have a recipe section on their site with many more yummy yum yum recipes! I can't wait to try more of them!
I think the best part - because I am a coffee drinker - is that Oregon Chai's Tea Latte provides about as much caffeine as a "lightly brewed cup of black tea" (according to their site), so if you drink a few cups, you can get your little caffeine buzz on in the morning - or evening, if that's what you prefer. (Sue me, I have 6 kids to keep up with!)
In addition, you're going to save yourself a ton of money making it at home, as opposed to stopping at the local stores and buying your $4 daily cup of chai. (you can purchase the whole concentrated container above for a little over $5!)
Oh! Did I mention it's vegan, too?
